What is included
The first directory snapshot includes 4,031 institutions, 37,710 institution-and-subject groups and 343 subjects with reported records. It focuses on occupational certificates and associate-level awards in the 50 states and Washington, DC.
We include relevant training reported by technical schools, colleges and universities. Federal reporting does not capture every private noncredit course, employer program, apprenticeship or community provider. Our subject taxonomy covers 370 scoped CIP codes; some have no institution record in this snapshot.
How records are connected
IPEDS UNITID identifies the reporting institution. We group records by institution and six-digit CIP subject, and present related certificate and associate awards together. This avoids creating near-identical pages for each award row.
IPEDS records can aggregate more than one teaching location. We do not treat an administrative address as confirmation of every program’s campus. Corporate brands, reporting institutions, specific campuses and current courses are not interchangeable.
The CIP 2020–SOC 2018 crosswalk connects subjects to occupations. These are many-to-many exploration links, not a claim that a program qualifies a graduate for every related career.
Dates stay with the facts
Institution locations and completion records use the 2024 IPEDS collection. College Scorecard uses the June 10, 2026 release, but individual cost and aid metrics retain their own cohort periods. Career profiles use O*NET 31.0.
A recent download date does not make the underlying facts current. We do not present federal completion records as current course intakes, and a zero completion count is not evidence that a course has closed.
Costs, outcomes and missing data
Institution-level tuition, net price and aid measures keep their original scope. They are not program-specific quotes. We do not describe broad graduate earnings as starting salaries, or reuse institution averages as individual program outcomes.
Unavailable and privacy-suppressed figures remain unavailable. They are never replaced with zero. We do not rank schools using unmatched populations, time periods or award levels.
Original-source enrichment
Useful links found on official school websites are labeled with a check date. Program-specific claims require evidence for the exact campus and course. A school-wide marketing page is insufficient to establish a program’s accreditation, tuition, delivery mode or enrollment status.
AI-assisted drafting may help organize guidance, but it is not treated as a factual source. We do not generate reviews, staff biographies, accreditation claims or numerical outcomes without source evidence.
Coverage limits visible at launch
Our school and career directories are based on the imported federal datasets. We include BLS wage tables and projections, public apprenticeship partner records, historical program and licensing references, and Census/BEA living-cost context. Live openings, current approval and current course prices still require original-source verification. See our detailed coverage and reporting-period notes.
State subject pages require at least three listed institutions; city pages require at least three institutions. Smaller groups remain discoverable in broader directories. Page counts do not stand in for verified coverage.
Corrections and refreshes
When a source changes, the affected record should be checked at the same institution, campus, subject and reporting scope before publication. The original source and retrieval date are retained. Renamed or consolidated public pages should redirect to the surviving profile.
If you spot a mismatch, verify the current position with the original provider or authority before making an enrollment decision. You can submit a correction with an original source link for review.
